Acknowledge the importance of the role sauna plays in the Finnish culture and healthcare.
It’s been quite a walk! Time to do what locals do – sit down for a bit to relax over a cup of coffee. Finns are the biggest coffee consumers in the world. The Nordic concept of a comfortable yet productive life, coffee breaks are the main social fuel and have a huge impact to working life. The drinks are on us 🙂 You can complete the experience with a delicious cinnamon roll or our legendary Karelian pasty.
The Kamppi area is the modern city centre with transportation hub and a major shopping centre. In the middle of the hustle and bustle, the Chapel of Silence is designed to provide a haven of tranquility. This modern church, built in 2006 has received plenty of architectural awards.
Music Hall and Kansalaistori accompanied with the museum of modern art Kiasma form the new meeting ground for Helsinki locals. Witness the new national library being built on the other side of the lot. On the opposing hill the power holders gather in the Parliament House. Our academically educated Finnish guides can answer your tricky question about politics and the current situation of our Welfare State.
The grande finale of the tour is the Rock Church. It was designed by architects and brothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen and built into the bedrock in 1960’s. This spectacular site is the most visited church in Helsinki and it is easy to understand why. The entrance to the church is included to the price of this Tour.
